Boise State University (BSU) Broncos Football Player Taken in the 2010 NFL Draft – 1 Selected
The Boise State University (BSU) Broncos football program had one player taken in the 2010 NFL Draft that was held in April. The one player selected from Boise State by a National Football League (NFL) franchise was Kyle Wilson, a cornerback, who was picked up by the New York Jets in the first round with the 29th overall selection.
The New York Jets were looking to add some youth and athleticism to their secondary and that is exactly what Jets head coach Rex Ryan believes that he has found in corner Kyle Wilson. The Jets play against a number of talented offensive teams in the AFC East division that they participate in and it is of the utmost importance to have a quality secondary to limit the passing success of divisional opponents.
The New England Patriots play in the same division as the New York Jets. This means that twice a year during the regular season the secondary of the Jets is tested by future hall of famers Tom Brady (quarterback) and Randy Moss (wide receiver). For Rex Ryan and his Jets team having a top notch secondary gives them the best chance to win their division by being successful against the dominant Patriots. Coach Ryan believes that players like the 5’10″ 194 pound Kyle Wilson are the sort of men that his organization needs in order to be successful in their division.
Kyle Wilson was born in May of 1987 in Piscataway, New Jersey. As fate would have it Wilson wound up being chosen in the 2010 NFL Draft by a team that plays their home football games in East Rutherford, New Jersey which is only 45 minutes north of where Kyle Wilson was born and played high school football.
Before being a late first round pick by the Jets Kyle excelled at Piscataway High School where he helped his team win three straight state championships that were bookended by undefeated seasons in 2002 and 2004. The current NFL defensive player actually garnered more accolades as an offensive weapon in high school where he won first team all-state honors for his receiving prowess. Kyle Wilson played both sides of the ball at Piscataway High School and also won defensive recognition as an all-conference and all-area player in the secondary.
Wilson chose the Boise State Broncos over more local football scholarship offers from neighboring Rutgers and the University of Delaware. While playing for Boise State in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Kyle Wilson received first team all-WAC honors in both 2008 and 2009 before entering the 2010 NFL Draft. During his final season with BSU the Broncos had fourteen wins and zero losses.

The Favorite Receiver of the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady
Tom Brady surprised a lot of people when he came in for an injured Drew Bledsoe and the team not only didn’t miss a beat, but got better. Since that time he has established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the entire National Football League. Today, he is one of the more feared and respected opposing quarterbacks that any team could play against.
The New England Patriots have been fortunate to have a player with Tom Brady’s intelligence, demeanor, and talent run their team from the quarterback position. Most teams just are not that fortunate. With multiple Super Bowl victories and tons of individual awards though, it is not all a direct result of him. The talented teammates the organization has surrounded him with to catch his passes deserve some credit too.
Who during his time in the league so far has been his favorite receiver?
Choosing how someone would qualify for this distinction can be difficult. Judging this category based solely on touchdown receptions though, there is a player in a runaway lead. Through the 2009 NFL season, no player has caught more touchdown passes from Tom Brady than the great Randy Moss. Moss’s 36 touchdown receptions from Brady are more than double that of the second place player in that category.
Tom Brady is a great player who has put up great numbers. Even he will tell you though that it is also due to players like Randy Moss who have been on the receiving end of some of his great passes.

Football Betting – America’s Favorite Sport
Football is America’s favorite sport these days, so it should come as no surprise that wagering on football is the most common sport betting activity on the continent. Games in the National Football League, the minor leagues, college, and even some high school games will attract thousands of bettors each week. In this article, we are going to take a look at some fundamentals when it comes to betting on any football game.
What kind of bet can you make?
The most popular type of sports bet made on football games is the spread bet. Spread bets include an underdog and a favorite, and a certain amount of points a team must win or lose by in order for the bettor to collect. They look like this:
Chicago Bears -10.5 (-150)
New England Patriots (180)
Whether you are betting the money line (which we will get to in a second) or the spread, the team with a negative sign near it is always the favorite. Being the favorite means that the most people are placing bets on this team, which may or may not indicate their chances of winning. So, in the above scenario, the Bears are the favored team (haha!). This spread also indicates the amount of money wagered in order to win. Every bet of $150 on the Bears will collect $100 if the Bears beat the spread. Betting on the Patriots, on the other hand, means that you stand to gain $180 for every $100 that you bet.
The spread is favored in football because it carries an extra element of security. That security is represented by the -10.5 figure. This means that in order for people to collect on wagers placed on the Bears, Chicago must win by at least 11 points. If they only win by 9, those betting on the Patriots will win the bet (which means that underdog bets will still win, even if the underdog team actually loses). That extra .5 of a point is added so that there is no “push”, or tie, on the bets.
The second most popular type of sports betting action when it comes to football betting is wagering on the money line. This is your standard bet, where money is placed on one team to win. Money lines are expressed much the same as spreads, but without the points indicator. Generally, money lines cost more money to bet on the favorite in order to win $100 because a victory is easier to predict than a difference in points.
Other types of wagers in football betting:
There are quite a few different types of sports betting wager placed on football games, which can add some spice to your betting life. Over/under bets are placed according to the total amount of points both teams will score in a game. For example, a sports book might place the combined total score of a football game at 55. Bettors would then decide whether they thought the combined score would be over or under that total, and place wagers accordingly.
Futures, totals, squares, and parlays are all also popular in football betting.
How to bet on football games:
Keep in mind, when betting on football, that most sports bettors will win less than 50% of the time. This is because the sports books really know what they are doing, and play with the odds continuously and successfully.
However, a little bit of knowledge can go a long way in helping out one’s football betting record. There are services which can be of great assistance to those interested in all manner of sports betting, football betting included. Sports information lines in particular can assist bettors when it comes to finding good value bets and up to date information about the team they might want to bet on.

The Best Oakland Raiders Quarterback Ever
One of the most popular football teams in the history of the National Football League is the Oakland Raiders. While it is true that the Raiders have suffered through some tough times of late, they continue to have tons of fans from all corners of the country. When it comes to popularity and the sport of football, few players are more popular than the quarterback. So, who then is the best quarterback the Oakland Raiders have ever had?
When analyzing who is the best in any category, there is a great deal of subjectiveness that comes into play. Is the best quarterback the one who has led the team to the most championships? Is the best quarterback the one who has thrown for more touchdowns than anyone else in team history? Or, is the best quarterback the one who has kept the starting position for the most years?
Jim Plunkett was not drafted by the Raiders and failed somewhat as a starter for the New England Patriots and then the San Francisco 49ers before coming to Oakland in the late 1970s and leading the team to two Super Bowl victories.
Rich Gannon only played for the Raiders for six seasons, but in that time he threw for the second most yards in team history with a total of 17,585. That is an average of over 2,900 yards a season. Gannon actually only started at quarterback for the Raiders for four full seasons and in those years he threw for 15,787 yards which is an average of just under 4,000 yards per year. In addition to this, he also averaged almost twenty touchdowns a season and made the pro bowl four times, as well as was named the 2002 NFL MVP.
Only one player has thrown for more touchdowns in an Oakland Raiders uniform than Daryle Lamonica. Lamonica was the first big name quarterback that the Raiders had and he is still held in high regard. As a starting quarterback, Lamonica’s record was 62-16-6. He twice led the AFL in touchdown passes and once led the league in passing yardage. Daryle Lamonica would go on to be named the UPI Player of the Year twice, first in 1967 and then again two years later in 1969.
The best quarterback in Oakland Raiders history though is also one of the most popular players in team history. Ken Stabler has thrown for more yards and touchdowns than any other Oakland Raiders player in history. Nicknamed “The Snake” for his ability to scramble and avoid getting sacked, Stabler would play for the Raiders for ten seasons, seven of them as the primary starting quarterback. He would lead the league in touchdown passes on two occasions, be named the 1974 NFL MVP, play in four Pro Bowls, and lead the Raiders to a Super Bowl victory following the 1976 NFL season.
The Oakland Raiders have long been known as a team that loves to throw the ball. They have fielded some great quarterbacks over the years, and even some of the ones who only had a brief stay with the team like Jeff George, Kerry Collins, Jay Schroeder, Jeff Hostetler, and Steve Beuerlein still managed to put up great passing numbers. The best quarterback of them all though was Kenny “The Snake” Stabler who helped make the Raiders one of the best teams in the National Football Language during the whole decade of the 1970s.

2010 NFL Lines – Predicting and Winning
Just like the past years, predictions based on analysis on the past performances of the National Football League participating teams are being released everywhere to serve as a good reference not only for the football enthusiasts, but most of all, for those who are planning to place wagers on their favorite football team. The 2010 NFL lines are not just numbers and a “win or lose” announcement after tossing a coin, and no, they are not taken from a crystal ball either. With careful analytical judgment and rigorous studying from the data of every team’s performance from previous seasons, and the conditions set in the teams’ recent trainings, the sports analysts were able to give three teams for this coming 2010 season. And these teams are the New England Patriots, the New York Jets, and the Miami Dolphins.
Miami Dolphins track records show good numbers. Analysts predict this team to be in the third seat, due to its high total season win average of 8.5. It is said that the famous quarterback, Chad Henne, will have enough chance to show off his abilities as a leader and a player. Their defense might hold them back a little, but definitely assure them a good place on the top three seats.
The New York Jets gives a higher number of 9.5 for total season win. In 2007, they experienced the lower part of the wheel with having received consecutive losses, but in the last two years, they have greatly improved their game and strategy. Players proved to everyone their insanely gifted talents, not giving their opponents any chance to claim victory. With new players on his list, and this will allow them to once again secure a spot into the playoffs, and hopefully, this year, become the second best all throughout the season.
But right now, all eyes are on one particular team; the New England Patriots. Also having the same number of total wins in the season as the New York Jets with 9.5, the New England Patriots just got the best prediction of being the first place in the National Football League because of its perfect offense. The problem lies a little on holding its defense, but nothing is seen as impossible, not with enough training and additional improvement. With a little more effort on practicing and careful strategy especially in putting up more guards against their opponents, then for sure, the prediction of them being on the top spot would definitely come true.
There may be different views and sets of the 2010 NFL lines, since after all, these are just deductions from expert analyses. They could be seen as something subjective or even nothing as a faux. But no one will never be certain, until the real game takes place. For the fans who will want to place bets for their favorite teams, the NFL lines could be used as a potential guide that would help you in placing wagers. Just keep in mind that there is not only one NFL line or prediction. Use all these resources to your advantage to ensure victory.
